An Artists Point of View
From my theme of Point of View, I wanted to explore an artists point and how they can see everything or everyone in front of them as a canvas. With this I want to experiment using different media on the model.
Januz Miralles
Januz Miralles carefully combines photography with illustration.
Ryan Hewett
Ryan Hewett is an artist who paints portraits with a palette knife. He creates pieces which are very realistic but contrasts this with the expression and colour he uses with the knife. I particularly like how he blends the portrait into the background even though his techniques create a 3D look.
Nunzio Paci
Nunzio Paci is an artist who created pieces of the human body combined with nature. The focus of these paintings were the insides of the bodies. He displayed the muscles and bones as if they were growing roots. I particularly liked how he had painted the exterior body monochrome compared to details on the insides.
Blekotakra
Blekotakra is an artist who combined photography with paint. In these series they used lack and white acrylic in areas of the image to create an illusion that the photographs were disintegrating or melting into the page.
Nunzio Paci Inspired shoot.
Taking inspiration from Nunzio Paci's work and the idea of this unit I decided to combine a drawung with a photograph. Because Paci's series focuses on the human body, I had painted a skull which I later layered with a photograph. I used Photoshop to overlay the paiting into sectionsn of the face as if the skull was being revealed.
Blekotakra Inspired photoshoot
After looking at photographer Blekotakra I was inspired to combine photography and illustration. Because of the effect these pieces had with the dripping, I decided to use a wet media such as water colour or ink. Using Photoshop I unsaturated the photographs I had taken, I printed them out and painted over sections using black water colours.
After researching Blekotakra I took black and white photographs and used inspiration from their work to position my model and decide on the composition of the photographs. Keeping to the monochrome i used back water colour paints on top of my photographs. I had diluted the paint to create a runny consistency o i can make it drip down the photograph.
Januz Miralles Inspired Photoshoot
Before i painted on top of the photographs i created a page of mark makings where i could experiment and find out what techniques would look best using watercolour. One of the two pages i used had a slight dry-brush effect while on the other one attempted to make the paint look as if it was dripping down the page. Using photoshop i overlapped these paintings with portrait shots i had taken. Editing the contrast and brightness, i wanted to make the face only or mostly appear where the paint was.
Ryan Hewett Inpired Photoshoot
From looking at painter, Ryan Hewett, I wanted to experiment painting with palette knives. I kept to a black and white colour scheme and intended to create a messy, rough look. Inspired by his work i wanted to blend the face with the background that i painted so using face paint and some acrylic, i i tried painting the same texture on my model.

Using Photoshop I layered the photographs and set them to overlay to blend them together to make them appear as one picture. setting the layers to overlay and changing the contrast and brightness of the images i attempted to make the image blend in a way to make them look like photograph.
